The spiritual teacher and author, Ram Dass states that “We’re all just walking each other home.” That quote sums up quite well how I try to live my life. And in many ways, that saying also embodies what I have seen as the true ethic of Milwaukee Succeeds. From the staff, to the Network partners and all the way to the Executive Committee, what I have seen is a community of people learning how to work together in a new way. Hundreds of partners supporting each other, all in the best interest of the kids – each one of whom we so desperately want to succeed. In our journey, the path has not always been clear. The road has not always been smooth. But the one constant is that along the way we have found traveling companions who have been willing to lay to rest their own interests with the thought that there is a greater good ahead if we work together.
I am so very proud of how far we have come as an organization and I am also so very hopeful for the future that is in front of Milwaukee Succeeds. My thoughts and prayers are with all. And, if anyone needs a traveling companion for the road you are walking, please feel free to give me a call
